'Whack Acceptance'

My artwork looks like a very different person than we would see on the street. It looks different to a person that we would see walking down the street because their skin tone of this person is very mixed. Their eyes are looking different directions. They are also wearing all different colours on their t-shirt. The subject matter of this art piece is the person. This is the subject matter because it is the first thing you see when your eyes hit the page.

The title of my work is 鈥淲hack Acceptance鈥 because the idea behind this artwork is acceptance in all people no matter what colour, hairstyle or how they look, they should be accepted as a human being regardless of all of these things.

The Art Principles that I have included in my Art piece include; Distorted shapes, curvaceous shapes, Real texture, Bumpy texture, Powerful tones, Rough lines and Bright & Bold Colours. All of these elements and more are included most collages however the listed elements I have used quite obviously used in my collage. My Artwork is made from magazine pages, PVA glue, and markers. The steps that I had to use when making my collage include thinking about what issues in the world I would like re-make/represent. Then I thought about what Street Art form I would like to out this idea into action through. I thought about spray paint and markers but I thought about what everyone else was doing I and wanted to do something different. I ended up choosing a collage to represent these ideas.

My artwork expresses the issue in society about acceptance. In this day and age acceptance is a really rare thing. This society don鈥檛 like to accept different and can鈥檛 handle different. I wanted to make a street art piece to put up in the school to be able to convey this message. My generation (Gen Z) have eased up a little bit on 鈥榙ifferent鈥 this is because we are the different.

My goals as an artist is to convey all of the messages that activists are trying to out in the world that are relevant to me. I鈥檓 not going to make art about being vegan because that is not what I support and that issue is not relevant to me. Making this artwork has helped me reach my goals because acceptance is very relevant to me.

I leant in when making this artwork that life isn鈥檛 always easy and the world is a harsh place. If the message on billboards and TV ads and Radios and all different types of media isn鈥檛 getting across to people than Art is going to have to compensate for it. This artwork didn鈥檛 turn out how I expected it to. I got some feedback from different people and I took on their constructive feedback and I added the red balloon and flower thrower. I added these to symbolise acceptance and love.
