It's Not Too Late'

Our artwork is the world melting into space, as ying and yang. One side representing earth, blue and green and the other representing space, black with white splatter. We have named this “Its not too late” as it explains that we still have time. We planned on this to be a large, dramatic and earthy artwork that is bold and has a strong impact on the viewers. The lining around the art was controlled but also interrupted as we wanted it to be.

The moon has bumpy details to it because we used a pallet knife, and this also created a bright spot to catch a little bit of attention. The colours that were used were cool and blended together as one image. The materials we have used are paintbrushes and stencils so the texture of the painting would all match up and blend. A toothbrush was used to splatter that stars on the space side. Painting multiple layers of paint on was a process taken as this result in our art piece standing out more.

Our artwork was inspired by everything we see today, how all the pollution of the world is changing our society and that if we don’t change it soon, we won’t be able to change at all. This is a social issue that effects everyone, and anyone in the future. My goal for this artwork is that it expresses how we feel about global warming and how it is affecting our world nowadays, however also a positive perspective that we can change this outcome with the words “its not too late”. After people see it, I hope that their perspective on global warming has changed.

When creating this piece of art, I learnt that how to cooperate when it came to work on the same project with 3 other people and I also learnt new skills on how to paint. When the final result came out it was close to what I imagined, as it did come out excellently and better then we all expected.
