'What Life is to Me'

My artwork is a combination of both bold and edgy with straight border lines and splashes of colour. The colours I have used is purple, pink and blue some of the colours are soft as others are darker. The word “Magical” is in the centre on the large page. The subject matter is focus on the word in the middle of the page because I think that life is magical.

The title is “what life is to me” because we all view things differently and we could just be staring at the same thing or in this case going through similar experiences. The most obvious thing on this page would be the word in the middle with the splashes of colours around the outside. My artwork is a throw up and is made from different spray paints, large paper, stencils and a little imagination. I used a technique referend to bridges when there are white gaps between the words. In general, the world is very inspiring and the people who are creative and think outside the box. So, in some ways I inspired myself but in other ways the world has inspired me as well. Originally I wanted my artwork to have a positive message because sometimes in life we get caught up with the bad things instead of being thankful and happy about what we have and what a privilege it is to have those wonderful things in our life.

Although, it could be just those magical moments that you know if you take a photo of it wouldn’t be the same as experiencing it which is more important. In my artwork I wasn’t trying to show emotions but rather the meaning behind it. My only one goal as an artist was to do something positive/meaning behind my artwork. How I look at this and the meaning behind it I would say I have achieved my goal I was aiming for.

Overall, I have learned more about street art and different techniques. The end result of this is what I would expect for the placing of things like words and the border but when it came to spray painting I didn’t quite known how it would turn out but I am happy that it looks unique. Form this I have learned new skills and tried different ideas and to see what I prefer, and I enjoyed spray painting and the process of it. So, I am happy with the result of doing a throw up.
