My work is about two birds sitting on a branch as they are about to fly into the air, with the words ‘Fly High’ under them.
I used four different colors including bright yellow, light green, light blue, dark blue and brown. The media of this artwork is made from spray paint on paper. The techniques used is being able to use spray paint and dusting with their spray paint used.
I was inspired to do this piece because on 4 February 2021 I lost my grandad from COVID 19. My family couldn’t go to the funeral which was held in England. So instead, we said our goodbyes to him on the beach by releasing balloons with messages from each person in the family.
The goals I set before doing my artwork was to make sure I was only lightly dusting and not saturating the stencil. My overall thoughts of my artwork is that I could’ve done better with the dusting and that I should’ve used painter's tape to keep my stencil down so that there wasn’t as much overspray.
