Art Students Win Big at the Darwin Show
We are thrilled to congratulate our talented students who showcased their exceptional art and design creations at the Show this year. The College had a significant presence at the event in most categories. We would like to take this opportunity to recognise each and every student who represented the College at the Show.
We are particularly thrilled to shine a spotlight on our Year 9 Visual Arts students. Notably, the following students secured the top three prizes in their respective categories - a testament to their perseverance in class to perfect their chosen medium.
Stephanie Dent’s remarkable pencil drawing stole the show, earning her the well-deserved first prize in the ‘Junior Art’ category. Stephanie’s ability to capture depth, detail, and imagination in her work is truly inspiring and speaks to her potential as an artist.
Second prize was claimed by Rosinia Kastellorizios for her mixed media work, which was thoughtfully themed around WW1. Rosinia’s work not only showcases her artistic flair but also her dedication to storytelling through her art, inviting viewers to reflect upon the impact of history on the present.
Lastly, a heartfelt congratulations to Daniel Bradtke for his remarkable achievement of securing third prize in the ‘Painting Any Medium’ category. His watercolour masterpiece, despite being his first attempt at the medium, demonstrated a keen eye for colour and form that promises more amazing works to come.
We are beyond proud of all our students who participated in the Darwin Show, and we commend them for their commitment, passion and creativity. It is through their efforts that our college’s artistic community continues to thrive and inspire.
